Buhari Inherited A Bad Economy – Oyegun

oyegun
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, John Oyegun, yesterday said President Muhammadu Buhari inherited a bad economy and he is working towards overhauling the system to, initiate the desired change Nigerians wish for.
This is as he said the President is one of the few incorruptible Nigerians that can take sacrificial decisions and instill discipline. Speaking at the luncheon and award programme organised by the University of Ibadan Alumni Association, the national Chairman of the ruling party urged Nigerians to persevere and be optimistic.
According to Oyegun, “The price of crude oil dropped drastically when we came on board.” Rather than a plastic solution, President Muhammadu Buhari took some sacrificial decisions to overhaul the entire system.
“In the period of pregnancy, there is always pain. Buhari remains one of the few incorruptible Nigerians that can take sacrificial decisions and instill discipline. Lack of discipline is one of the factors that brought our institutions to the prostrate state we met them. I have no doubt in my mind that the future is very bright,” he said.

'I am being investigated for corruption'- Goodluck Jonathan

'I am being investigated for corruption'- Goodluck Jonathan

In an interview with Bloomberg TV this morning, former President Goodluck Jonathan, said he is aware he is being investigated for corruption in Nigeria. Asked if he was aware that he is being investigated, Jonathan said
"Of course, obviously we would be investigated and I am being investigated. Yes, investigations are going on" he said
He says he wouldn't want to comment on whether the investigators would find anything incriminating.
"I wouldn't want to comment on certain things because when a government is working, it is not proper for the immediate past president to make certain statements. I would allow the government to do the work they are supposed to do. After all the investigations, the whole story would be properly chronicled"he said
Jonathan, said he doesn't feel liable for the poor state of the Nigerian economy.
"No. You see the economy of Nigeria somehow depends on oil and at anytime that oil prices drop, it affects the economy significantly in terms of its contribution to the GDP"he said
On the assumption that he left an empty treasury, Jonathan said
"That is not true. There is no way he would have inherited empty treasury and at the same time give bailout to the states. It is not possible. Nigeria is a fairly robust economy. but sometimes we over politicize certain issues and make it look so bad but it was not that bad".

'I know he's a basketball head. I saw him dribbling two basketballs the other day trying to mimic my two-ball routine. I told him I appreciate that and he doesn't want to see me with a soccer ball, because I wouldn't know what to do. It's pretty cool to know we've got fans all over, and obviously it's inspiring what he does on the soccer field.'

Senator Shehu Sani alleges threat to his life

Senator Shehu Sani alleges threat to his life

Senator Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central in the senate, says his life is under threat. Sani made the allegation in a statement he released via his special adviser, political and ideology, Suleiman Ahmed today June 6th. He accused Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, of referring to him and his political associates as "ants he will match and crush". Read the statement below ...

“Our attention has been drawn to a hate speech and threat to life made by Governor Nasiru El-Rufai against distinguished Senator Shehu Sani in the governor’s circus christened as town hall meeting in Giwa local government on 4th June 2016. The governor reliably and evidently referred to Senator Sani, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, Isa Ashiru Kudan as ‘ants he will match and crush’. We could have easily dismissed or ignore this statement as tantrums of an accidental governor high on weekend Marijuana, but we decided not to take things for granted in view of the vicious history and his allergy to criticism. Also fresh in our mind is the mass killings and burial of members of the Islamic movement in Zaria last December. We view his unguarded and provocative utterances as nothing but a hate speech and a direct threat to the life of Senator Sani and others whom the governor perceived as his ‘enemies’. We hold Governor Nasiru El-Rufai personally responsible for any harm done on Senator Sani.
This statement is to publicly alert security agencies and the general public that in the event of any injury or assassination of Senator Shehu Sani, no one should be held responsible but Governor Nasiru El-Rufai. El-Rufai is not appeased with his ‘suspension’ of Sen Sani from his pocketed state APC he has now resorted to threats of ‘Crushing and matching’. El-Rufai is an affliction to the people of Kaduna; he is at war with clerics, teachers, workers, traditional rulers, physically challenged, journalists, doctors, politicians and the poor.We advise El-Rufai to use the waters of River Kaduna to build Kaduna of his dream and if he must use blood he should use the blood of the abundant crocodiles in Kaduna River and not that of distinguished senator Shehu Sani.”

Niger Delta Militants threaten to bomb Aso Rock, NNPC towers, National Assembly, DSS Headquarters, others

Niger Delta Militants threaten to bomb Aso Rock, NNPC towers, National Assembly, DSS Headquarters, others

The Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force, JNDLF, has threatened to attack many vital government offices including the seat of power, Aso Rock, the headquarters of NNPC in Abuja, National Assembly, the DSS headoffice and others.

In a statement released today June 6th, the militant group which threatened last week, to test 6 missiles in the Niger Delta regions beginning from tomorrow June 7th, warned members of the diplomatic community to remain neutral as they carry out their planned attacks. Part of their statement reads;

“In our final meeting it was resolved that the Nigerian Communication Satellite Orbit should be shut down so that it will avoid the cause of electronic radiation to human lives. Also, the followings occupants of these buildings should as a matter of urgency vacate them immediately in their own interest to save their lives because our fight is not for any human blood, but to destroy all those infrastructures that were built with our oil and gas monies in this country. They include: State House Villa, Abuja, Defence headquarters, DSS headquarters, National Assembly, NNPC Towers, Central Bank of Nigeria, Supreme Court/Appeal Court, Agip Heaquarters, Abuja, Shell Headquarters, Lagos, Chevron Headqurters, Lagos, Exxon Mobil, Lagos, NLNG, Lagos and Abuja Offices, Kaduna Refinery and all military formations in Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna and Benue. We equally advise the Diplomatic Community to be neutral on this issue as wrong comments against us will be seen as saboteurs. Where they are staying presently will not be affected which is not part of our targeted areas of destruction in the country. We will make federal government and oil companies to suffer as they have made the people of Niger Delta region suffers over the years from environmental degradation, and environmental pollution. We shall embarrass the self acclaimed Nigerian Air Force with their recent deployment of fighter aircraft, helicopter gunship and surveillance aircraft when at this digital age, countries are talking about missile development, and they still condescend so low of their present obsolete equipment. Note, we are going to destroy the ones they have deployed to Escravos, Forcados in Delta State; Bonga oil field, Agbami offshore and Brass in Bayelsa; Bony in Rivers; Qua Iboe Terminal in Akwa Ibom State, and Opuekeba in Ondo State if they fails to remove them before time. Our crack team has taken inventory of their equipments. Even the present suffering from a rare ear disease known as Meniere’s disease by President Muhammadu Buhari will not win any sympathy to save our action against the federal government. The name Nigeria as a country will come to an end this week.” the group said
